About Jason McConnell

It’s been my great pleasure to call Columbia my home for nearly 20 years. I moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri in 2001, and quickly fell in love with this youthful, well educated, and vibrant community. I studied History and Sociology, having always had a fascination with the way the people’s lives comes to imprint on a place and give it a certain character with the passage of time. Columbia is constantly growing and evolving!
Like most students, I needed a job to pay the bills while I worked through my studies. Shakespeare’s Pizza was opening up its second location, and I got hired on as part of the original crew. I came to one Columbia institution for school and got to work for another one! You get to know the fabric of a community well by being an active part of it, but if you want to know an area like the back of your hand, try delivering pizzas for four years!
Shakespeare’s was really booming, so I decided to stay on after graduating from Mizzou, and I eventually worked my way up to General Manager. I loved the relationships I got to build with countless customers and employees, and I stayed over 15 years! During that time, I was able to participate in the opening of Shakespeare’s South, and assist in the design of the second kitchen and bar expansion of Shakespeare’s West. It was a great introduction into the skeletal workings of a building, and how its design can affect the flow of a space. This educational experience piqued my interest in Real Estate, and my wife and I began looking for our first home. The process of buying a home can be stressful, but the feeling you get when you get those keys and you know it’s yours is amazing! I realized that guiding someone through this process would make for a deeply rewarding career.
I’ve gotten to know so many people from all walks of life in this community, and it’s been a real strength as a Real Estate Agent with Weichert. It’s been my great privilege to be a part of an extraordinary team with Travis Kempf and Ryan Lindholm that sold over 25 million dollars worth of Real Estate in 2019. Travis has been a multi-million dollar producing agent in Columbia for well over a decade, and he continues to best his sales totals year after year. Ryan spent over seven years in construction, and in addition to selling 7.8 million dollars of Real Estate in 2019, he also runs his own remodeling business, Restoration Ryan. From the structure of a home to the structure of this community, we have the knowledge and experience to find the perfect place for you to call home.
When I’m not working, I enjoy hanging out with my wife and being bossed around by my two dogs (have you ever met a calm Catahoula?). I’m a member of the Columbia Board of Realtors®, and I serve on the Special Events Committee, mostly for the happy hours.
